Chateau Puilaurens
Located in Aude Department this castle appears to have belonged to the Abbey of St Michel de Cuxa, but was later passed to the house of Aragon in 1162. Being outside of French territory it was a safe haven to Cathars for many years.  Whilst under control of Guillaume de Peyreperteuse it held off Simon de Montfort and his crusader army.

Around 1250 it was given by Aragon to the French and the King of France took control in 1258.

It is believed to have surrendered about the same time as Queribus, viz 1255 .
